🦃 Air Fryer Turkey Nuggets Recipe

🧂 Ingredients:

(Same as your fried version — with a few small tweaks)

  • 1 lb turkey breast (cut into nugget-sized pieces)

  • 1 cup buttermilk (or milk + 1 tbsp vinegar/lemon juice)

  • 1 tsp salt

  • ½ tsp black pepper

  • ½ tsp garlic powder

  • ½ tsp paprika (optional)

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour

  • ½ cup cornmeal (optional, for crunch)

  • 2 eggs

  • Cooking spray (or a little oil in a spray bottle)

🔪 Step-by-Step Instructions:

  1. Marinate the Turkey (Recommended):

    • Combine turkey, buttermilk, salt, pepper, garlic powder, and paprika.

    • Cover and marinate in the fridge for 30 minutes to 2 hours.

  2. Set Up Breading Station:

    • Bowl 1: Beat the eggs.

    • Bowl 2: Mix flour and cornmeal with a little salt and pepper.

  3. Coat the Nuggets:

    • Remove turkey from marinade.

    • Dip each piece in the egg, then dredge in the flour mixture.

    • For extra crispiness, repeat the egg + flour step (double dip).

  4. Preheat Air Fryer:

    • Preheat to 375°F (190°C) for about 3–5 minutes.

  5. Air Fry the Nuggets:

    • Lightly spray the basket with cooking spray.

    • Arrange nuggets in a single layer (don’t overcrowd).

    • Spray tops of nuggets with cooking spray.

    • Cook for 10–12 minutes, flipping halfway through, until golden and crispy. Internal temp should reach 165°F (74°C).

  6. Serve:

    • Let rest for 2–3 minutes before serving.

    • Pair with your favorite dipping sauce.

✅ Tips:

  • Use panko breadcrumbs instead of flour for a crunchier texture, if desired.

  • Don’t skip the oil spray — it helps browning and crispiness.

  • For spicy nuggets, add cayenne or hot sauce to the marinade or flour.
